Learn English in Cape Town

The town was built at the foot of the impressive Table Mountain and around Lion’s Head which makes it so unique and beautiful. The contrast between nature with the mountains, the sea, the botanical gardens and the business district, the City bowl, with its buildings, make the city atypical and recognizable from afar.

Avenue English is located in a well-known area of the city, De Waterkant, Greenpoint, an upscale suburb in between the city and the Atlantic Seaboard; a vibrant and quirky neighbourhood filled with coffee shops, yoga studios and restaurants.

Historically, Cape Town is also a city steeped in history with Mandela having been imprisoned for 27 years for opposing the apartheid regime in South Africa on Robben Island, just a few minutes by boat from Cape Town. Today, there are many signs of Mandela’s time in Cape Town.

Many surfers from all over the world come here to enjoy one of the best surf spots in the world, as just a few kilometres away is the beach of Muitzenburg, known by surfers all over the world for its beauty and waves.

And finally, football is very present in Cape Town and has left its mark on the city. When South Africa hosted the 2010 World Cup, the whole city vibrated with its stadium which hosted the semi-finals of the World Cup.
